Backyard Birds in SC Kansas

Red-breasted Nuthatch

White-breasted Nuthatch

Eurasian-collared Dove

Carolina Wren

Male Cardinal

Female House Finch

We are having some cold weather but little moisture.  We did get
some snow in sleet and pellets but it melted quickly.
With the cold weather, we get more variety of birds looking
for food.  This is the first year we've gotten the Nuthatches.
We had to clear a lot of bushes and overgrown tree limbs this past
Fall.  Consequently, we are having less White-crown Sparrows and
Harris's Sparrows.

I've taken these photos through the window
with a Point n' Shoot camera.  I think the sensor
is wearing out...so, I'm sorry about the quality of
these photographs.

Nice series of photos! Wish we could get the Cardinals here. I had a lone female at my birdbath in 2007 right after a big storm blew through. I was so excited to see her. She was here just a day and a half, then gone with the wind.

Cindy, Nice to hear from you--I know I have had trouble keeping up with everyone's blog. Looks like you have a lot of activity in your yard--such fun to watch. I have been bad about keeping my birdfeeders full so the poor birds never know if they will find anything or not. Hope we get some more snow soon. Mickie :)

Viewing these beautiful birds visiting your feeders brought a big smile to my face. How nice to have the nuthatches in your backyard this year!
