Birds in the Blizzard

Male Cardinal, holding on for dear life!

Male Cardinal, "The blizzard is messing up the doo...!"

"I'll put my face to the wind!! I will not be moved!"

Female Cardinal. "Men are such show-offs!"

Harris's Sparrow

Dark-eyed Junco watching the snow coming down.

Pretty Harris's Sparrow

Harris's Sparrow coming in for a closer look.

I took these at dusk of a Dark-eyed Junco. I love the way they turned out. The snow looks tinted in blue.

That looks tough for the cardinals. Please tell the Harris sparrow to stop in Minnesota this spring. I need him for my "lifer" list. Thank you.

Hey, troutbirder! If I could speak their language, I would do it in a heartbeat...HA! We really enjoy them, they only come for the Winter.

Oh I LOVE the Harris's sparrow...I don't think we get those here. LOVE how you captured these beauties in the snow. That carindal looks like his crest is getting blown over :) Great pics!

Thanks Kerri! I only have a Canon A630 point and shoot camera...wishing for a Canon Rebel XS...until then...

Excellent Harris Sparrow. I've never seen one.

Thanks for stopping by, John! Yes, we have excellent Harris's Sparrows here. We are so blessed! Today, because of the snow storm, we had a flock of 15 - 20!
