Surviving the Ice Storm

We survived the ice storm and are slowly getting back to normal. We were without power for 4 days. The next day after the ice storm we were to get a blizzard, but thankfully all the snow was just north of us.

Many tree branches snapped off because of the weight. With the power off it was VERY quiet at night and you could hear the snapping, cracking, and crashing all night. In the morning there were branches all over the yard. All over everybodies yards! We saw one tree totally split in half.

Nice photos! We had an ice storm earlier in the year. It's beautiful - though destructive. Thought I'd say hello since I was born in Kansas - and I'm a student of the War Between the States as well. (I've lived in Gettysburg most of my life so how could I not be)?
Stay warm!
